Color Me United 5K and YMCA Healthy Kids Day

Color Me United 5K and YMCA Healthy Kids Day April 29, 2017 – Oskaloosa, Iowa On April 29th, 2017 United Way of Mahaska County and the Mahaska County YMCA will come together to host Color Me United 5K and YMCA Healthy Kids Day. This event will take place in the William Penn Activity Center (PAC).

The first part of this event is the Color Me United 5K, a color run with proceeds benefiting the Oskaloosa chapter of Iowa Reading Corps. The 5K route starts in the PAC and runs along a portion of the MCRF trail. The run features five color stations and this year’s run will also feature a Finish Line Color Party to ensure participants get covered in color.

The Color Me United 5K is a fun run suitable for all ages and abilities.

*Registration Fees:
Adults and children 13+: $25
Children 6-12: $15
Children 5 and under: FREE
*Fees include a T-Shirt, and race bib.

The second half of this event is YCMA Healthy Kids Day. Healthy Kids Day is a FREE, family friendly event to celebrate health and wellness in the Mahaska County community. Local businesses and organizations will host booths with fun activities for kids, and children who complete their Activities Bingo Cards will get prizes. Healthy Kids Day will also feature bounce houses, other inflatable games, Punt, Kick, Pass, Sno-Biz, and much, much more.

Event Schedule:
7:30 AM – 5K Registration and Check-In Opens
8:30 AM – 5K Starts and Healthy Kids Day Activities Begin
11:00 AM – Healthy Kids Day Activities End

Weather Implications: The YMCA Healthy Kids Day portion of this event will take place regardless of weather. If weather prevents the Color Me United 5K from taking place on April 29th, the run will be rescheduled for Saturday, May 13th.
