MAHASKA COUNTY – Mahaska Health Partnership is pleased to welcome Board Certified Allergy/Immunology Specialist Stanley Horner, DO, as a full time member of its Medical Staff.

Dr. Horner has joined Melissa Lamb, ARNP-BC, to expand on the allergy, asthma and immunology care available at MHP. “Melissa and Dr. Horner’s experience will work well together to serve patients in southeast Iowa,” MHP CEO Jay Christensen said. “Both providers bring a wealth of knowledge to the practice that will greatly enhance the care provided locally.”

Dr. Horner comes to Oskaloosa from Missouri where he has been in private practice since 1997. “My wife and I have family in Ankeny so we have come through Oskaloosa and found it to be a nice community,” Dr. Horner shared.

“I’m looking forward to being part of a progressive health system. “The opportunity to partner with Melissa and other members of the Medical Staff to serve patients is very rewarding.”

Prior to living in Missouri, Dr. Horner served in the military and grew up in Vermont. “My history is very eclectic. I have worked with a medical unit in the army, in a lab at Yale University studying viruses and diseases as well as in educational settings,” Dr. Horner explained. “All of the information I have collected through those various experiences helps me better serve patients.”

One thing to know about Dr. Horner is he will ask a lot of questions. “Both Melissa and I want to solve problems for our patients, not just mask symptoms. If you come to us with a set of ailments, we’re not going to make assumptions and send you on your way with a prescription.

“We want to know your story, hear about your family and their health as well as what your triggers are. All of the information we gather can help us solve the mystery regarding the root cause of your symptoms so we can more effectively treat you,” Dr. Horner shared.

Dr. Horner and Melissa Lamb, ARNP-BC, practice fulltime in the Medical Group on the MHP campus in Oskaloosa. For an appointment, call 641.672.3360.
