Oskaloosa, Iowa – The weather changed quickly in town the previous week, from a warm and early fall temperature, to a much cooler, near winter feel.

Thanksgiving is only but days away, and the Black Friday ads lay on tables with circles or other marks designating what items have made it on the list.

At St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ, the doors were opened as they once again hosted their holiday bazaar.

Rev. Liz Colton, Pastor at St. Paul, said the holiday bazaar predates her arrival to the church, which featured a brunch fundraiser.

There were treasures from the past, crafts and baked goods for sale and the traditional raffle for a quilt.

The yearly event is a way to help bring the church family together, and to “see lots of familiar faces” ,said one organizer.

The proceeds are used by the church for missions opportunities or for things the church may need.

St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ is located at 501 High Avenue East in Oskaloosa.
