Oskaloosa, Iowa – Mahaska Bowl is one of those community meeting places, where especially during the winter months, people turn towards each other to help pass the time.

Little known is that William Penn University owns Mahaska Bowl, and Nik Rule, with William Penn University, spoke about the importance of the facility to the university and the community.

William Penn University is also home to both men and women’s bowling teams, and the facility is an important facility to keeping those teams in top form.

Rule said the reason for the fundraiser is to continue making the facility not just a great place, but “an even better place.”

“We want to pour money back into the bowling alley. It’s served a great purpose in the community, and people have loved being here,” said Rule. “It’s a good asset to the community.”

The hope for not only this fundraiser but future events is to update the facility to host events, such as business meetings, alumni events and more. “There’s a lot of potential,” added Rule.

There were eleven teams that took part in the event, which also included a raffle.
