Leslie Garnett Proudfit, 54, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. He was born November 17, 1961.
Leslie attended school at Lynnville-Sully.
Leslie worked several places throughout his life including, McDonalds, Oak Tree Villas and a pallet company in Jefferson City, Missouri. When he moved to Iowa he worked for a security company at Pella Corporation and for Pine Grove Nursery.
Leslie enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and sports. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots fan.
His family includes his two children: Sierra Lynn Proudfit (& Fiance Codie Phillips) and Dusty Eugene (& Toni) Sneller all of Jefferson City, Missouri; six grandchildren: Jaden Lynn Butcher, Liliana Marie Butcher, Nevacity Love Rayshan Phillips, Addilynn Sneller, Karleigh Sneller, and Quintin Sneller; his mother, Eva Mae Proudfit of Grinnell; and a sister Lana Proudfit.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister Virginia Ewing.
As a final gift of generosity, Leslie has donated his body to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Steve Howe officiating.
