Oskaloosa Elks to share history of flags

In an effort to support patriotism, Elks Lodges throughout the United States present Flag Day ceremonies on their meeting nights closest to the actual Flag Day, which falls on June 14 each year.

Oskaloosa Elks Lodge will host a Flag Day Ceremony on Thursday, June 16, at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 340 on the corner of South First Street and 2nd Avenue East. The public is invited to attend this ceremony, which will cover the history of the United States flag. Boy Scout Troop 77 will assist the Elks by presenting the various flags throughout the program.

Light refreshments will follow the program.
