The Oskaloosa Indians Softball Team is off to a 6-1 start to the season.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The 6-1 Oskaloosa Indians Varsity Softball squad was looking to avenge a tough night at Pella Christian.

The Indians came out strong on Saturday morning against North Mahaska, taking the win 11-1.

Senior Kylee Silliman had the pitching wrapped up for the Indians, pitching 5 innings and allowing just the single run from a single hit.

Senior Taylor Green lead the team with 3 RBI’s with Silliman bringing in 2 more.

For coach Jay Harms, a team he and Oskaloosa had never claimed a victory from was up next. Mount Vernon gave the Indians all they could handle, but eventually Oskaloosa walked away with the 1-0 victory.

The Indians had 5 hits, with Senior Alexis Vroegh providing the RBI that helped the team claim the historic win.

Junior Alexis Groet had 14 strikeouts to help seal the deal.

The night game versus Albia kicked off shortly after 6pm, and the Indians were ready to get the day over with.

Junior Alexis Westercamp was the heavy bat for the game, driving in 2 RBI’s for the Indians, while Junior Alexis Groet provided another 17 strikeouts. The Indians rolled over Albia 6-1.

The Indians will be back in action on Monday in Grinnell.
