Batter Up for Mothers Day Weekend
SE Iowa Shootout USSSA softball tournament
The SE Iowa Shootout USSSA softball tournament, organized by Rob Griener of Ottumwa, was held at the Lacey Recreation Complex over Mothers Day weekend. Over 40 teams came out Saturday and Sunday May 7-8 to play in 6 divisions of softball competition. The weather was beautiful and lots of moms and grand-moms were among the near 1,500 spectators. “This is a great facility, wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but watching my granddaughter play today!” one grandma stated before leaving the complex.
