Oskaloosa, Iowa – In an effort to help bring people to downtown Oskaloosa, the Oskaloosa Main Street opened up the historic bandstand to musicians to hold lunchtime concerts.

Randy McDonald was the first to snap up the opportunity to share his musical talents with the community. McDonald entertained those enjoying lunch with smooth tones from his saxophone.

McDonald said that the exposure is good for his new music business located, in the former Herald building, at the intersection of A Avenue and Market Street. He also enjoyed meeting and performing for the noon crowd.

The lunchtime concerts are part of an ongoing effort by the Oskaloosa Main Street to help bring events to the downtown, and spark more interest in things happening around the square.
