Budget Amended To Show $165,000 In Savings
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa City Council cleared the final hurdles that will allow the city to save $165,000 in financing by the reissuance of $1,695,000 in general obligation bonds.
Also approved was a 28E agreement between Oskaloosa and Ottumwa for law enforcement services during RAGBRAI 2017.
Brad Reiman, of Bearence Management Group reviewed the proposal for employee health, life, and flex spending plan for the Fiscal Year of 2017. The resolution was adopted with all ayes.
The 2016 Fiscal Year budget amendment was passed because of the general obligation bonds that were paid off, and new lower interest debt was approved. The move helps the city save $165,000, and the amendment was needed to show the difference on the books.
Also approved was the waiver of assessments against three properties within the city. The properties are located at 612 5th Avenue West, 703 A Avenue East and 115 5th Avenue West.
These assessments were removed so the city could move forward with obtaining the properties.
