An Oskaloosa Police Department Press Release

It’s that time of year again where we will be seeing more door to door sales persons, solicitors, and transient merchants. The City of Oskaloosa requires such individuals to obtain a license from the Police Department. There are some exemptions for non profit youth organizations and charitable organizations. If they are not listed in the exemptions they are required to have that license with them at all times. You are encouraged to request to see the license up front before doing any sort of business with them. Door to door sales are restricted to Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please see the city website www.oskaloosaiowa.org to obtain further information in regards to peddlers, solicitors, and transient merchants within city ordinance 5.24 or contact the Oskaloosa Police Department at 641-673-3201.
