Soua Yang, 87, of Clovis, California, died Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home in Clovis. She was born, Friday, June 15, 1928, in Xiengkhouang, Laos, the daughter of Tong Ger Yang and Shona Vue.
Soua was married to Cher Yang Vang, who later passed away. She then married Chia Ying Xiong and was later divorced.
Soua moved from Laos to the United States on July 26, 1988, to follow her brother Houa Yang. She later moved to live with her younger sister, Chong Lee, in California. Soua moved between California and Oskaloosa periodically to be with both her brother and sister. In Laos, Soua was a homemaker and loved farming. Soua was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oskaloosa.
Her family includes her sister, Chong Lee in Clovis, California; three brothers: Houa Yang of Oskaloosa, See Yee Yang, and True Yang both in France; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Soua was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Va Vue and Yia; and a brother, Da Por.
Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, April 11, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oskaloosa with Deacons Lee Pao Yang and True Yang officiating.
Burial of the urn will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday from 1-3 p.m. and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.
