Oskaloosa Girls Win Home Relays

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The temperature was cold, and the ever-present wind made its self present.

Oskaloosa Girls Head Coach Betsy Luck said, “The girls came home with the team championship scoring 173 points!  Leading the way were 5 individual champions:  Abby Parker in the Disc, Tori Palmer in the 800m run, Alexis Westercamp in the 400 hurdles, Maria Settimi in the 100 hurdles and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of (Jamie Holmberg, Shalandra Shilling, Emma Kelderman and Maria Settimi).  There were also 12 individual personal records set with 3 season best relays.”

“The girls will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel back to Eddyville to make up the meet that was cancelled last Thursday.  Then on to East Marshall on Thursday.”

Oskaloosa Boy Head Coach Mike Sterner added, “The day was highlighted by 24 individual PRs and setting 3 season best relays marks. Top placewinners earning gold were Austin Reed continuing his dominance in the 110 Hurdles and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Austin Reed, Jaden VanRoekel, Mason Aschenbrenner, and Nik Dykstra. Another fantastic event was the open 800 with Carter Huyser breaking the school record in a time of 2:07.95 and finishing second.”

Next week will prove to be another busy one as the boys are traveling Tuesday to Fairfield and then Thursday to Saydel.
