New Soft Surface gets Kids Playing at Lacey Recreation Complex

It’s soft enough to kick your shoes off!

MCRF installed a new soft surface for the playground at the 5-plex ball fields following the season last fall. The surface, thanks in part to a grant from Mahaska County Community Foundation (MCCF) , is soft enough to kick your shoes off! “The playground if definitely going to be well used”, said Sherry Vavra, Executive Director of the complex. “I’ve already seen youth playing on it during their siblings practices and the season hasn’t even started yet!” The Little League season starts later this month. We look forward to a full playground, with the latest and softest surface, for youth at the complex or just walking by on the trial and stopping by to play.
