Over 300 people attended the 28th Annual Mahaska County Pheasants Forever Banquet held at Penn Central Mall.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Camo was the norm for those attending the 2016 Mahaska County Pheasants Forever Banquet held Saturday night in center court of Penn Central Mall.

Social Hour began at 5pm with dinner and drawings kicking off at 6:30pm. A live and silent auction were held, along with gun raffles, all in an effort to raise the needed funds to help teach and provide the next generation conservation.

During the past 27 years, the Mahaska County Pheasants Forever chapter has invested $817,531.000 for conservation in the area. This year’s funds will help acquire land, such as the Savage Addition, which will eventually be open to the public.

Mahaska County Pheasants Forever donated over $17,000.00 to the local shooting teams of New Sharon and Oskaloosa, and to the Eddyville youth hunter education.

Wyndell Campbell, Treasurer for the local chapter, said that there was more tickets sold in pre-sales than there was who attended last year. Campbell said that it’s all done to ensure that future generations will have ground to hunt on and will have pheasants to shoot and learn about.
