Betty Church, 66, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born Sunday, January 1, 1950, in Ottumwa, the daughter of George and Josephine Behymer King.

On March 18, 1967, Betty was united in marriage to Kenneth Smith in Lancaster, Missouri and they later divorced. On February 14, 1975, she was united in marriage to Ronald Collins Sr. in Lancaster, Missouri, they later divorced. On September 25, 1987, Betty married Avard “Bunk” Beals in Leighton and he died December 2, 2000. Lastly, on March 17, 2003, Betty married Steve Church in Oskaloosa.

Betty enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word finds, camping and video games, especially Donkey Kong.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Church of Oskaloosa; three daughters: Glenda (& Christopher) Williams of Ottumwa, Virginia (& James) Platt of Ottumwa and Ann (& Mike Brown) Collins of Pella; a son, Ronald Collins, Jr. of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; a great grandchild; three sisters: Joyce Grace of Ottumwa, Vickie Fisher of Ottumwa and Margo (& Larry) Hull of Missouri; and a brother, Jack (& Debbie) Behymer of Eddyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Avard “Bunk” Beals; a grandson, David Collins; two sisters: Georgia Allison and Linda Moore; a brother, Glen Behymer; and a brother in infancy, George Behymer.

Graveside services and burial will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 1:30 P.M. at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Pastor Clint Hudson officiating.
As was her wish, Betty’s body has been cremated and no visitation is planned. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Betty Church Memorial Fund.
