Linda “Lips” Beason, 65 of New Sharon passed away Wednesday evening, March 9, 2016 at the Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.
Linda Kay Beason, the daughter of Thomas and Geraldine (Visser) Chambers, was born on April 24, 1950 at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Linda attended Oskaloosa High School. On February 16, 1968, Linda was united in marriage to Larry “Logger” Beason at the Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa. To this union four children were born: Larry, Jodi, Candy and Wendi.
Linda worked for Montezuma Manufacturing for 32 years before retiring in 2012.
Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, going to the Meskwaki Casino in Tama, playing Farkle and Dirty Canasta, her cat Dirty Face and, above all, spending time with her family.
Linda was a member of the New Sharon United Methodist Church where she was baptized in 2014.
Linda’s memory will be honored by her children: Larry “Beanie” (& Denise) Beason of Cedar Rapids, Jodi Story of New Sharon, Candy McGinity of New Sharon and Wendi “Wendle” Cranston of New Sharon; 19 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, with one on the way; her sister, Judy (& Robert) Wallace of Auburn, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Linda Carlson of Oskaloosa.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Logger Beason.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm Monday, March 14, 2016 at the New Sharon United Methodist Church.
Burial will be held in the Union Mills Cemetery at Union Mills.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Linda Beason Memorial Fund.
