The KIIC Farm Show

The KIIC Regional Farm Show kicks off Friday January 29th at Bridgeview center and will feature popular guest speakers, a ‘sold-out’ vendor arena, and live entertainment. The best part is it’s all free! John Whitaker, Ken Root, Mike Pearson, Senator Joni Ernst and others will all appear or be guest speakers at the annual show. In addition to the over 110 ag related vendors, there’s entertainment including a Minnesota lumberjack show, Sullivan Supply’s Stock Show University, and a working dog demonstration.

Oskaloosa and Eddyville FFA programs will assist with the show which runs Friday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00 pm. “It’s a great opportunity not only for farmers to learn about the latest trends in ag, but it’s also a great time for vendors to get feedback from the ag community on what products and services they need, or modifications they need – to be successful and profitable” says Joe Milledge, Owner of Thunder Country KIIC, organizer of the event.

On Friday, there will be two Stock Show University Shows at 1pm and 3pm, then Lumberjack Enterprises from Minnesota will entertain those in attendance with 2 shows at 2pm and 4pm which feature 11 events including a 10,000 gallon tank and log rolling competition. Friday’s events conclude with a free attendee reception at 5pm featuring food and beverage in the expo hall.

On Saturday, Jerry Davis will once again entertain the crowd with his live working dog demonstrations. His dogs ‘Lou and Rita’ will load cattle on and off of a trailer – showing how trained dogs can be that extra ‘hand on the farm’. Jerry says “Working dogs never call in sick to work, never complain about pay, and are always eager to work, making them very valuable.” Davis one national awards in 2011 during competition.

Everyone who attends the show will also be eligible to win one of 5 LazyBoy recliner courtesy of Mick Furniture in Albia. “All they have to do is give us their name” Milledge adds. Lunch on Saturday during the Cow-Calf Conference is free to the first 500 in the door Saturday morning.
