Community Invited to Osky Winter Open Mini-Putt Event

YMCA Winter Open

YMCA Winter Open

The 5th Annual Osky Winter Open will be held February 12-13 at Penn Central Mall. This year’s planning committee is inviting the community to escape the cold and come play a little mini-putt golf while benefitting the Mahaska County YMCA. This creative two-day event is geared for the whole community. The Y and its business partners have put together an enjoyable event where participants can get out and socialize, join in fun competition, and burn off some extra energy. Here are the details:

* Tee-Off: The event will tee off with a 12 noon Two-Person Golf Tournament on Friday, February 12. The tournament is limited to 36 two-person teams. The cost is $20 per team which includes a box lunch for each team member. Register by contacting the YMCA at 641-673-8411. Lunch and flighted prizes are provided. Trophy presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.

* Open Golf: From 1:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, enjoy open golf ($5 per person or $20 per family).

* Middle School Teen Night: The course will then be closed for a Middle School Fun Night from 8 to 11 p.m., and it is open to all middle school youth in the county. A student ID is required; the cost is $5. The Middle School Fun Night will include a mixture of fun opportunities and maybe a contest or two in addition to mini-putt golfing.

Event proceeds will go toward your Mahaska YMCA programs and scholarships. If you have questions or want to sign up for the two-person tournament, please call the Y, 641.673.8411.
