Mahaska County, Iowa – The Iowa State Patrol and the Mahaska County Sheriffs Office are investigating a two vehicle accident that took place at the intersection of Oxford Avenue & 215th Street, northeast of Oskaloosa.

According to the Iowa State Patrol accident report, a 1997 Chevy Blazer driven by Susan Elaine Durian, 55, of New Sharon was westbound on 215th when it failed to stop at a stop sign at 215th and Oxford Avenue.

According to the report by the Iowa State Patrol, the Chevy Blazer crossed onto Oxford Avenue and was struck by a 2006 Freightliner driven by Jeremy Allen Diers, 33, of Sully, who was northbound on Oxford Avenue.

Durian passed away as a result of the accident.

Mahaska County Sheriffs Office, Mahaska County 911 Dispatch, Mahaska Health Partnership Emergency Services and the Iowa State Patrol responded.

The accident remains under investigation.
