Oskaloosa Slumberland Furniture Helps Three Families Sleep Better

Oskaloosa Slumberland Furniture manager Maisi Watts smiles at the reaction of two young bed recipients. Slumberland Furniture in Oskaloosa gave away 7 mattress sets for the holidays.
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Oskaloosa Slumberland is helping 7 area kids sleep a bit better this coming year with the donation of a new mattress for each.
Maisi Watts, manager of the Oskaloosa Slumberland, stood next to 7 mattress sets that the store was giving away as a way of giving back to their community, to “families who are needing beds.”
One of the young participants was very excited when he inspected his new bed, because he has currently been using an air mattress as his bed.
Overall, in the Midwest, Slumberland Furniture as a whole will be giving away approximately 2,000 mattress sets. Watts said that the program isn’t new, as the Oskaloosa Slumberland Furniture location has provided beds every year for the past 13 years.
Not only do they give them the bed, the store will also deliver that new mattress set to the home for the young recipients. The retail value of the mattress sets comes in at approximately $3000.
The presentation of the beds was only but a part of the whole days festivities at the store. Envelopes on a Christmas tree at the front of the store helped to provide discounts to shoppers, free gifts, and KBOE radio did live broadcasts. “It’s a big day for Slumberland,” said Watts.
“To me, it’s really very humbling. It does make me proud that I can provide for others that aren’t as fortunate,” said Jacqueline Walters.
Slumberland is located on the east side of Oskaloosa in the Heartland Square Mall, and you can find them locally on Facebook HERE.
