On Saturday, October 25th, high school music students met at various centers throughout the state to audition for the Iowa All State Honor Ensembles. To be selected for one of these groups is the highest honor that a high school musician can receive. Students from the Oskaloosa High School Choir, Band, and Orchestra had students audition for this ensemble. They have been working on their audition since before the start of the school year. We are pleased to announce that Dalton Bunnell and Jackie Reif (seniors at OHS) were selected to sing in the Iowa All State Chorus. Dalton will sing bass and Jackie will be singing soprano in the choir. John Hammes was chosen to play 1st cornet in the Iowa All State Band. John is a junior at OHS and this is his 3rd year being selected for this ensemble.

The All State Honor Festival will be held in Ames on the 19th – 21st of November. The concert will be aired on Iowa Public Television over Thanksgiving.
