Oskaloosa, Iowa – Making it to the postseason once again was the Oskaloosa Volleyball Squad.

Lead by Head Coach Jennifer Comfort, the team earned its way into the postseason by facing some of the toughest teams during the regular season.

After defeating Knoxville to open post season play this past week, the Indians traveled to Fairfield. There, the Indians went down in 5 sets, taking the host team to the limit.

“I asked the girls to play their best ball, because they have to at the end of the year, and they really did,” said Comfort. “I was really proud of their effort and I was really proud how much work they put in, and it showed out on the court.”

Comfort said that for outgoing seniors, that was the best way to go out short of winning. “We went out playing our best ball. I was happy.”

“We’re pretty excited for the future. We’re sad to see these seniors go, but I’m excited for the next group,” added Comfort.

Comfort also said that the goal for this year was to “take the next step” and prove they grew as a program.

Comfort said even with an 18-20 record for the year, the majority of their losses were to ranked teams. “We’re playing quality competition. And it just shows when we go 5 sets with the number 11 team in 4A, we can play with anybody.”

“It was just a great match and the girls played hard,” says Comfort.
