Jane L. Coffey, 92, of Galva, formerly of New Sharon, IA, passed away at 10:05 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. Jane was born December 6, 1922 in New Sharon, IA, the daughter of Archie Porter and Refah Lorrain (Schlegel) Longstreet.

Jane graduated from New Sharon High School in 1940 and attended William Penn College for 2 years.

Jane married Lloyd Coffey Jr. on December 15, 1945 in New Sharon, IA. Lloyd preceded her in death on October 10, 2004.

She had worked for many years in the Mahaska County Auditors Office and was County Auditor from 1973-92.

She was a dual member of the First United Methodist Church in Galva and the New Sharon United Methodist Church in New Sharon, IA. She was also a member of the Altrusa, Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society and Prairie Knolls Country Club. She was an avid golfer and made a hole-in-one at the age of 74.

Jane is survived by two daughters: Jacqueline (& Paul) Jaquet of Galva, and Cynthia (& Brian) Perkins of Overland, MO; two grandchildren: Kevin (& Brandy) Jaquet, and Adam Jaquet; a step grandchild, Erik Perkins; and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Bennett Jaquet.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bruce Longstreet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the New Sharon United Methodist Church. Holland-Coble Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2015 at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon, IA.
Burial will be in New Sharon Friends Cemetery in New Sharon, IA.
In addition, a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Galva followed by a gathering in the church hall. Rev. Ann Champion will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist in Galva or to the New Sharon United Methodist Church.
