Barbara McKee, 73, of Oskaloosa passed away Monday, October 05, 2015, at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. Barbara Ann McKee, daughter of Frank James and Dorothy Irene (Kaldenberg) Van Veen, was born October 7, 1941, in Pella, Iowa.

Barbara attended Pella schools and later earned her G.E.D. Barbara married Allan David McKee, August 17, 1957, in Pella. To this union four children were born. They later divorced.

Barbara worked at Lynn Poultry, Continental Overall Factory and Easter’s Super Value, prior to her over 35 year employment with Country Life Health Care; there she served as dietary supervisor and activity director. She retired in June 2015. Barbara attended Fellowship Bible Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, cooking, yardwork, quilting, gardening and feeding the birds.

Her family includes her children and their spouses: David and Debbie McKee of Leighton, Dennis and Brenda McKee of Harvey, Babs Dykstra and Greg Carolan of Solon and Barbi and Tracey Stewart of Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three special children; a brother, Charles (Jill) Van Veen of Pella and a special friend, Loran G. Mason of Oskaloosa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Vander Linden.

Visitation for Barbara will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will be present from 5-7 p.m. to greet visitors.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 16, at the funeral chapel with Pastor Rodney DeRonde of the Fellowship Bible Church officiating.
Burial of her cremated remains will be held in Graceland in Pella.

Memorials may be made to the Fellowship Bible Church.
