Timothy Richardson, 52, of Atlantic, Iowa and formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Timothy Craig Richardson, son of Daniel and Edith E. (Fuhs) Richardson, was born, September 24, 1963, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

As a youngster, Tim was ranked #1 in the U.S. for his skill at BMX racing. He was a graduate of East High School in Wichita, Kansas where he was an excellent baseball player. This talent earned him a scholarship to Butler County Community College. Tim was forced to leave school due to ill health. He has since resided in Ottumwa and Atlantic, Iowa.

Tim enjoyed watching car races and fishing in his later years.

His family includes his mother, Edith Richardson of Oskaloosa; his five siblings: Les (& Claudia) Richardson of Wichita, KS; Jerry (& Beth) Richardson of Wichita, KS; Dennis (& Anita) Richardson of Seattle, WA; and Rebecca (& John) Swanson of Boise, ID. He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his father.

As was his wish, Tim’s body has been cremated.
Burial of his ashes will be held privately in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
