Osky 7th Grade Volleyball Comes Up Short Against Pella
The 7th grade girls’ volleyball team was in action last night against Pella. The A-team lost a close battle 2-3 to bring their record to 3-1. The scores were 11-15, 17-15, 12-15, 15-10, 12-15. The team was led by Sophia Dykstra with 10 aces, Makenna Schaffner with 6, Hayle Hacker with 4, Abby Braundmeier with 3, Kaylee Johnson with 2 and Ellie Henry with 1.
We had an off night, but still continued to battle and if a couple balls had bounced another way we might have pulled off the win. We will look to get back on our winning ways as we face Norwalk on Tuesday.
The B-team earned their second win of the season (2-2) with a 4-1 win. The scores were 8-15, 15-13, 15-11, 15-9, and 15-13. The team was led by Katelynn Moore with 11 aces, followed by Samara Shilling with 4, Cecila Nicolas and Kiara Bjornson with 2 and Linnette Ramirez and Jazmine Chavez with 1.
The girls continue to improve and working hard. They are going after every ball and the efforts is resulting in wins.
The C-team played hard, but was on the losing end 0-5. The scores were 6-15, 9-15, 10-15, 18-20, and 10-15. The team was led by Makayla Covey and Lauren Milledge with 3 aces, followed by Rachel Rice with 2 and Riley Johnston, Haley Gladson, Ryan Meeth, Emme Josko, and Jaysa Goodwin with 1.
The D-team also played hard, but lost 0-5. The scores were 11-15, 4-15, 10-15, 4-15, and 9-15.
The girls are back in action against Norwalk at home next Tuesday at 4:30.
