David E. Fielder, 53, of Oskaloosa passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at his home in Oskaloosa.
David Edward Fielder, son of Richard Eugene and Mary Lou (Allgood) Fielder, was born April 14, 1962, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

David attended Oskaloosa schools and graduated with the class of 1981 from Oskaloosa High School. David married Brenda Van Polen in 1982, and to that union two daughters were born. They later divorced.

Following his education he worked for H.G. Brown Plumbing. He served with the Iowa National Guard and was deployed to Germany, France, Korea, and also served in Desert Storm. Over the years, David also worked in maintenance at Central College in Pella and then for the housing department with the city of Des Moines. David retired in 2005 due to health concerns.

David had a special interest in genealogy, he also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

His family includes his daughters and sons-in-law: Heather (& Aaron) Collins of Rayville, MO and Heidi (& Clay) Ingram of Liberty, MO; three grandchildren: Lane and Adelyn Collins and Byron Ingram; his mother, Mary Fielder of Oskaloosa; a brother, Terry Fielder of Oskaloosa; sisters: Cindy (& Don) Howard of Oskaloosa, and Lesa (& Mary) Vest of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Garry & Linda Reighard of Oskaloosa.

In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Marla Fielder.

A memorial luncheon gathering will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2013, at the Harry L. Anderson Post #34 of the American Legion.
Military Honors will be presented by the Oskaloosa Honor Guard.
As was his wish, his body will be cremated and burial of his ashes will be held at a later date. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the family in his name.
