Bryan Ritenour, 51, of rural Beacon died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at his home. He was born June 2, 1964, in Houston, Texas, the son of Oscar William and Sally Ann Neal Ritenour, Jr.

On June 18, 1987, he was united in marriage to Tina Teffeau. Bryan was a carpenter his entire life. He was very handy and could fix anything. He also worked for Don and Patty Herr on their farm for a few years.

Bryan was a family man, and he delighted in spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles. He was a member of ABATE District 14.

His family includes his wife of over 28 years, Tina Ritenour of Beacon; seven children: Catrina (& Charlie) Shilling of What Cheer, Brent (& Amanda) Ritenour, Kodie Ritenour, Alicia Ritenour, Derrick Ritenour, Ethan Ritenour, and Cooper Ritenour, all of Beacon; three grandchildren: Hattie and Bryer Shilling and Aiden Ritenour; his mother and step father, Sally (& Louie) Schmitz of Millersville, Maryland; two sisters: Dawn Maxwell of Severn, Maryland and Vicky Wisher of Millersville, Maryland; four brothers: Keith Ritenour of Brooklyn Park, Maryland, Michael King, Jonny King and Ricky King all of Glen Burnie, Maryland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Oscar William Ritenour, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Ava Ritenour.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with Reverend Andy Baker officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Friday after 4 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Friday evening from 5-7 to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family.
