Christian Singletary, 10, of New Sharon passed away Thursday afternoon, August 6, 2015, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Christian Lane Singletary, the son of Sara (Porter) Hicklin and Gary Singletary, was born on March 21, 2005 in Perry, Florida.

Christian was going to be in the fifth grade at North Mahaska School. He was an easy going child and was known for giving the best hugs in town. Christian was painfully honest, but never meant to hurt anybody.

Christian loved playing with his trucks and cars. One of his favorite things to do in the summertime was to go swimming at the Prairie Knolls Country Club swimming pool. He also enjoyed playing Minecraft games, Legos and watching his favorite show “The Flash”. He loved his family and looked up to his big brother, Jamie.

Christian’s memory will be honored by his parents, Sara and Aaron Hicklin of New Sharon; his biological father, Gary Singletary of Gainesville, FL; a brother, Garrett Singletary of New Sharon; a sister, Makenzie Singletary of New Sharon; grandparents: Marty (& Stephanie) Templeton, Tammy Templeton, Donna Keller, Terry (& Linda) Steele, Mike (& Sherrin) Hicklin, Jeffery Singletary and Susan Singletary; great grandparents, Dean and Mary Porter and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Christian was preceded in death by a grandfather, Larry Porter.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the North Mahaska High School Auditorium.
Burial will be held in the Union Mills Cemetery east of New Sharon.
Visitation will begin after 2:00 pm Monday, August 10, 2015 at the North Mahaska High School Auditorium with the family present from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family’s name to be determined at a later date.
