In a school year packed with high team finishes, only one broke through for a league title and the women’s golf team’s banner-raising campaign nets the #3 story from the 2014-2015 year.

For the second-straight year, the Statesmen qualified for the NAIA National Championships as the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament champion. Not content with just advancing to The Show, WPU turned heads and gained respect by placing 12th. Honorable-Mention All-American senior Maggie Yang carded three rounds in the 70s to take 33rd overall.

Yang defended her MCC Player of the Year laurel, while junior Demi Coertze was also on the league’s first team. Senior Alexandria Eckenrod and junior Natalie Booton earned honorable mentions, and skipper Nik Rule was named MCC Coach of the Year.

For the year, WPU claimed six tournament titles and four runner-up finishes in its 12-event season.

#3 Performance of the 2014-2015 Year

A record broken after nearly a half century takes the bronze on the 2014-2015 performance list.

In a game that featured 285 total points (151-134 WPU), Shane Bosek accounted for 52 versus high-scoring Grinnell in December. The previous single-game record was 49 set in the 1966-1967 season and tied in the 1980-1981 year.

Bosek finished 25-for-27 from the field as William Penn broke another mark with a 78.3% shooting clip. The contest helped Bosek to a 16.6 scoring average for the campaign.

#3 Video of the 2014-2015 Year

The buzz around the women’s basketball camp is well deserved as new skipper Willie Scott introduced himself to Statesmen Nation with a bang in March. His video is #3 on the 2014-2015 video list.

Sure, the video is long (over 27 minutes), but fans will find it mighty difficult to turn it off. So buckle in and enjoy hearing about the new head man of our women’s cager program.
