A PFLAG group (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is forming in Oskaloosa

PFLAG is the nation’s largest organization uniting people who are LGBTQ with parents, families, friends, and allies. With 200,000 members and supporters, and local affiliates in more than 350 communities across the U.S. and abroad, PFLAG is the largest grassroots-based organization of its kind. PFLAG is a non-profit organization and is not affiliated with any religious or political institutions.

PFLAG supports people who are LGBTQ, their famlies, friends and allies both locally and nationally, providing PFLAG chapter support group meetings and resources. PFLAG also educates families and communities on sexual orientation, gender identity and LGBTQ issues. Local PFLAG chapters educate their communities through a variety of projects while PFLAG National continues to provide fair and accurate information about LGBTQ people, their loved ones, and the unique challenges they face. PFLAG also advocates for equal rights for people who are LGBTQ on local, state, and national levels.
More information is available on our Facebook page, “PFLAG Oskaloosa Chapter Formation.”
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ. All are welcome
