#5 Performance of the 2014-2015 Year

A plethora of big-time women’s golf efforts were netted this past year, but one stood out among the crowd to pick up the #5 honor on the 2014-2015 performance list.

Demi Coertze posted a three-over-par 147 (73-74) at the Bellevue Invitational. The junior, who had 15 rounds in the 70s last year, nearly guided the Statesmen to an upset of then-#11 Bellevue. WPU fell by one stroke to the Bruins who finished seventh at the NAIA National Championships.

Coertze placed second in the 39-player field and her three-over tied for the lowest score (in regards to par) in school history.

#5 Video of the 2014-2015 Year

Men’s basketball player Jamere Murphy’s story had to be told on camera and his interview netted both the unofficial Most Inspirational Video honor and the #5 position on the 2014-2015 video list.

Murphy did not touch the varsity hardwood until after the holiday break, but once on it he was electric. The senior’s commitment paid off as he was integral in turning around the Statesmen’s season.
