Bowfishing at its greatest! On Saturday, July 18 come and participate in or watch a bowfishing tournament taking place from the Lake Red Rock dam to the Ottumwa hydro-electric dam. The home base for the event will be at the Eveland Access boat ramp located 4 miles south of Beacon on highway T39. Boats will leave Eveland at 9:00 am and will return by 5:00 pm for the fish weigh ins. This event is a non-sanctioned Bowfishing Association of Iowa tournament and is a fundraising tournament for the Veterans Airlift Command. If you are interested in participating in the tournament, the cost is $20 per person and $10 per boat to enter for the big fish. A maximum of four shooters are allowed. Registration begins at 7:30 am at the shelter house by the Eveland Access boat ramp. A mandatory meeting for all participants will be held at the shelter house at 8:45 am. The shotgun start will begin at 9:00 am.
