Oskaloosa Bark Park To Celebrate Grand Opening
Oskaloosa’s new dog park, The Bark Park, will have its Grand Opening from 5pm-7pm on July 21st. A special ribbon cutting ceremony will take place to celebrate the official Grand Opening at 5pm. The public is invited to attend this event and join City officials, the Oskaloosa Chamber, and the Bark Park Committee in a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The Bark Park is located on the south side of the Edmundson Pool in Oskaloosa.
“This project has been five years in the design and development,” said R.D. Keep. The park has been a Mahaska community project with donations coming from all parts of the county. The park is a nice amenity our business community can use when recruiting new workers and businesses to locate here.
The park consists of two fenced in sections, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The Bark Park will be open every day and will have the same operating hours as Edmundson Park. The park will be available in winter even though the main park will be closed. The park is accessible from South F Street.
“We are proud of what we are doing here in Oskaloosa and this new dog park is just another great addition to our city. We are consistently looking into ways to help enhance our community and this new dog park will not only add recreational value to our city, but also promote a safe, active experience for our local dog owners and their pets,” said Valinn McReynolds, Chamber Director and Bark Park Committee Member.
Dog owners will be responsible for their dogs at all times while at the park and must follow specific rules and regulations, which will be posted on park signs.
