Oskaloosa–For those who do not live in the Kansas City area or who are not interested in watching this fall’s nationally-televised William Penn football games on the internet, there will still be plenty of cable options.

Heart of America Athletic Conference Commissioner Lori Thomas, who locked up a deal with Niles Media Group for games on KSMO-TV and ESPN3, has inked a deal with Mediacom to also show the contests on its own cable channel, MC22, in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri.

“Our commitment to the student-athlete experience is strengthened with this agreement with Mediacom,” said Heart of America Athletic Conference commissioner Lori Thomas. “We are excited that friends, family, and fans spread out over four states can enjoy Heart of America football and learn more about the conferences outstanding member institutions.”

Mediacom, which serves over 1,500 communities throughout the country, will reach an estimated 500,000 additional households.

“At Mediacom, we believe that sports fans deserve to see their favorite teams in action, regardless of the size of the school or the town in which the school is located,” said Jeff Angelo, MC22 senior manager, community relations. “We are excited to offer MC22 viewers the chance to see these outstanding programs and we are proud of the increased exposure that we’ll provide for these student-athletes.”

The games can be viewed on channel 822 in Iowa, Illinois and Kansas. In the Quad Cities market as well as Missouri, Heart football will be aired on channel 722.

MCG subscribers need not fret, however, as outside of the HAAC agreements, William Penn has also secured rights to the October 31 home game vs. Benedictine (Kan.) at 11 a.m. The October 17 matchup at Peru State (Neb.) at 11 a.m. will only be shown on Mediacom (in addition to KSMO and ESPN3 of course).
