Oskaloosa–The calendar may say June, but football is already on the minds of many as four Statesmen have been named to the USA College Football NAIA Preseason All-America team.

Offensive lineman J.T. Dotson (Sr., Jenks, Okla., Business Management) and linebackers Isaac Samek (Sr., Bolivar, Mo., Industrial Technology) and Kevin Shrauger (Sr., Nixa, Mo., Physical Education) were honored as second-team picks, while Clayton Temaat (Sr., Alba, Mo., Industrial Technology) earned an honorable mention.

Dotson, who was a second-team all-Midwest League pick in 2014, helped the navy and gold offense rank second in the NAIA last fall with 335.9 rushing yards per game (402.5 total). A two-time second-team selection in the MWL, Isaac Samek (Sr., Bolivar, Mo., Industrial Technology) led the defense with 94 tackles (46 solos, 48 assists, 4.5 for loss). He had three interceptions, one pass breakup, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and scored one touchdown as well.

Shrauger joined Dotson and Samek as a second-team all-conference honoree last year, collecting 59 tackles (32 solos, 27 assists, 0.5 TFL) along with two interceptions, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He also scored a defensive TD.

Temaat, an honorable mention from the MWL, finished last year with 37 tackles (19 solos, 18 assists, team-best 8.5 for loss). His three sacks were also a team best, while he had a blocked kick as well.
