GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Matt Hammond ’17 and Graham Fisher ’16 have been named to the D3baseball.com All-Central Region Team for the 2015 season.

Both were named to the third team, Hammond at the catcher spot and Fisher as a designated hitter.

Hammond, from Post Falls, Idaho (Post Falls), was the Midwest Conference South Division Player of the Year. He hit .352 on the season with 43 hits in 122 at bats. He had 28 RBIs, nine doubles, four homers and 23 runs scored with a slugging percentage of .525. He also caught 13 runners stealing.

Fisher, from Palo Alto, Calif. (Gunn), is a two-time All-MWC South Division selection. He hit .368 with 42 hits in 114 at bats to go along with 31 RBIs. He had 11 doubles, seven homers and scored 25 runs while putting up a .649 slugging percentage. He also had a successful season pitching for the Pioneers.

The Central Region Player of the Year was Chris Lowery of Washington University, while Bryan Polowy of North Central was Pitcher of the Year and Josh Fleming of Webster the Rookie of the Year. Webster also had the Coach of the Year in Bill Kurich.
