The Oskaloosa Youth Wrestling Club had nine wrestlers compete this past weekend in the AAU Super Pee Wee State Tournament at Youngs Arena in Waterloo and brought home six medals earning a 13th place team finish out of 230 teams competing..
On Saturday, Treyton Cavin finished third place in the Kindergarten 38 pound weight class with a record of 5-1, all five wins coming by pin. Kaiden Parker, who was last year’s State Champion, lost his first match but fought hard winning six straight matches to finish third place in the First grade 50 pound weight class. Jeremiah Roberson, a first year wrestler, finished 4-2 to earn a sixth place finish in the Kindergarten 52 pound weight class.
On Sunday Oskaloosa had three more medalists in the Second grade division including Parker Lewis who went 5-2 on the day with five pins to finish fifth place in the 75 pound weight class, Grady Kool went 3-2 on the day and finished fifth place in the 80 pound weight class, and Ty Lorentzen went 4-2 to finish seventh place in the 52 pound weight class.
