The Mahaska County YMCA Dolphins traveled to Indianola to swim at the Sectional Swim meet. A swimmer has to choose which 3 individual races they want to try to qualify to swim at the state swim meet and they must meet the state qualifying times at this one meet in order to get the chance to move on. There is a lot of pressure on the kids and the Dolphins responded well. During the meet the swimmers posted 62 personal bests which shows how hard they are working at practice to be able to still be taking time off at the end of the season. Even with 8 different teams being at the meet with some of the largest YMCA’s being represented, the Dolphins still was able to come away with 31-top 3 finishes. Osky was able to qualify 31 swimmers for the state meet in 62 events which speaks very well for the coaches and the swimmers.
The swimmers that made their state qualifying times will now get to move on to Marshalltown to take part in the State Swim Meet on March 7th for the girls and on March 8th for the boys.
