Statesmen End Regular Season at Hoosier Classic

Indianapolis, Ind.–The William Penn men’s bowling squad finished in the top half of the field at the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic Saturday and Sunday.

The Statesmen placed 36th out of 78 teams with 8,073 pins in nine regular games. Lindenwood (Mo.) qualified first with 9,416 pins, but #10 seed Robert Morris (Ill.) pulled off four upsets to take the bracket title.

Michael Coffey of Lindenwood was the top individual with a 230.3 average (2,073 pins), while Jacques Kaune (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska, Business Management) topped the navy and gold with a 200.1 average to take 36th place. Kyle Clark (Sr., Aurora, Ill., Physical Education) also rolled all nine games with a 179.7 clip.

Michael Applegate (Jr., Council Bluffs, Iowa, Biology), with a 177.4 average, and Conan Mackey (Sr., Bray, Ireland, Public Accounting), with a 166.4 mark, each started seven games.

Stian Hoff (So., Orkanger, Norway, General Accounting) was next with a 190.6 average in five games and Lucas Perdieu (So., DeWitt, Iowa, Public Accounting) took down 153.5 pins over a span of four games.

Ryan Howard (So., King, N.C., Music) (177.5 avg.) and Travis Scott (Jr., West Saint Paul, Minn., Physical Education) (164.5 avg.) both competed in two games each.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Davenport to compete for league hardware at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships on February 28-March 1.
