10:00 am – Noon

The Northern Saw-whet Owl is a small, rare wintertime visitor that can be found in cedar tree groves. Once seen perched on a tree in daylight, they will not move and allow you to look at them up close. Come out to the Russell Wildlife Area on Friday, February 20th and join the Mahaska County Conservation Board on a hike to find these fascinating owls right in the county park! The hike will begin at 10:00 am and end by noon. Please dress for the weather. This event is for all ages. Pre-registration is appreciated. Call (641)673-9327 to sign up.
