GRINNELL’S SOUTHERN AND LUHMANN NAMED TO D-III CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC SQUAD

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College cross country runners Alosha Southern ’17 and Emma Luhmann ’18 have been named to the 2014 NCAA Division III All-Academic Team released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Southern, from Wilton, Conn. (Wilton), was an All-Region performer in 2014 and is a two-time All-Midwest Conference honoree. She owns the eighth-fastest time in program history.

Luhmann, from Dayton, Iowa (Southeast Webster Grand), also collected All-MWC honors in 2014. She has the 10th-fastest time in program history.

A total of 326 women made the D-III All-Academic Team. To qualify, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater and placed in the top 25 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
