Neil Allen Hynick, 65, of Schofield, Wisconsin, and formerly of Fremont, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Connecticut. Neil was born Tuesday, March 1, 1949 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Homer and Lillian (Lappin) Hynick.

Neil graduated from Fremont High School in 1967. Early on, Neil co-owned B & N DX. He went to work at Cedar Elevator, Morrell, and Wausau Homes. Neil always lived life to the fullest! He had a great love of all racing, which he shared with his father. This included: go kart racing, stock cars, drag strip cars and especially NASCAR. He enjoyed watching as well as participating in tractor pulls. He loved going to Las Vegas, going on the “hunting” trips with his friends (even though he never hunted), Sunday family days, and he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Neil loved to socialize and will be forever remembered as a very outgoing, caring person who never knew a stranger. He was a great storyteller and if there was a need, he was always there.

His family includes his three daughters: Michelle Hynick (& Rick Mullin) of Carver, Minnesota, Shonna Hynick (& Andy Slater) of Essex, Iowa and Aneila (& Dan) Rigney of Wausau, Wisconsin; five grandchildren: Morgan, Michaela, Jaidlyn, Marlee and Kamryn; a great grandson, Roman; his mother, Lillian Hynick of Ottumwa; three sisters: Nancy Stoos of Muscatine, Barbara Krusemark of Oskaloosa and Diana Bokhoven of New Sharon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers-in-law: Bob Krusemark, Dwayne Stoos and Gary Bokhoven; and a great nephew, Joseph Butler.
