Jeanette Van Engelenhoven, 93, of Pella and formerly of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Jefferson Place in Pella. She was born November 20, 1921, in Pella, the daughter of Edward and Minnie Van Zee Vander Linden.

Early on Jeanette helped care for her brothers and sisters, as well as other family members. On February 11, 1942, she was united in marriage to Everett Van Engelenhoven at Tracy, Iowa; Everett died May 31, 1998. They moved to a farm west of Oskaloosa. In the late forties she and Everett bought their own farm south of Oskaloosa. Along with helping Everett on the farm, she cared for home and family.

Jeanette was a member of the First Reformed Church and served in the church library, as well as many other church activities later in life.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and volunteering at the snack bar in the hospital.

Her family includes her two sons and their wives: James (& Carol) Van Engelenhoven of Pella and Keith (& Sharon) Van Engelenhoven of Ottumwa; three grandchildren: Jeff Van Engelenhoven, Scott (& Beth) Van Engelenhoven and Brian (& Heather) Van Engelenhoven; five great grandchildren: Jarhett, Lydia, Hudson, Bennett and Cedrik; two brothers: Warren Vander Linden of California and Willis (& Violet) Vander Linden of Leighton; a sister, Betty (& Leonard) Pol of Pella; three sisters-in-law: Danis Hedrick of Sully, Alta Vander Linden of Pella, and Mary Vander Linden of St. Louis, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Everett, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Gerald (& Blanche) Vander Linden, Raymond Vander Linden, Donald Vander Linden, and Robert Vander Linden; a sister, Sara Leona (& John) Beekhuizen; and a sister-in-law, Phylis Vander Linden.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Dale Visser officiating.
A family prayer service will be at 10:15 Monday morning in the fellowship hall of the church.
Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Sunday morning after 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 2-4 Sunday afternoon to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Reformed Church Missions.
