Mary Chilcote, 90, of Oskaloosa passed away Friday, November 21, 2014, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House In Oskaloosa. Mary Lucille Chilcote, daughter of Monroe and Bertha (Larkins) Fisher, was born July 29, 1924, in Oskaloosa.

Mary attended Oskaloosa schools. November 13, 1958, Mary married Willis Francis Chilcote in Wausau, Wisconsin. The couple soon moved to Van Nuys, California where Willis worked for Anheuser-Busch Brewery and Mary was a homemaker. After 20 years in California, the family moved to Washougal, Washington where they lived until 1982. At that time they moved to Oskaloosa. Willis passed away December 15, 2005.

In her spare time, Mary enjoyed fishing with Willis.

Mary’s family includes her children: Allen (& Susan) Chilcote of Oskaloosa, and Brenda Chilcote, of Oskaloosa; grandsons: Allen Edward Chilcote II and Matthew DuWayne Chilcote; three great- grandchildren: Allen Edward Chilcote III, Darrien Lee Chilcote and Rhea Lynn Chilcote, all of Oskaloosa; brothers-in-law, Lewis Chilcote and Bob Hicklin, both of Oskaloosa, and Marvin Loynachan of Knoxville; and a sister-in-law, Ada Fisher of Oskaloosa.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a son, Terry Chilcote; five brothers: Pat, Virgil, Bill, Elvie, and Kenneth Fisher; and two sisters: Nona Steil and Grave VanViber.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 24, 2014, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ralph Cole of the Easton Baptist Church of Des Moines, IA officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday, at the Funeral Chapel; the family will be present from 2-4 p.m. to greet visitors.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be designated at a later time.
