Statesmen Fall in Exhibition, 95-55
Sioux Falls, S.D.–The William Penn women’s basketball team could not keep pace with NCAA Division II Augustana (S.D.) in a 95-55 loss in exhibition loss Friday.
The Statesmen (4-4) were outshot 42.5%-25.4%, but held a 52-48 rebounding edge. The visitors scored the first two points of the night, but the Vikings answered with 16 straight and ran away from the navy and gold.
A halftime lead of 58-32 was held by Augustana and unfortunately the game never got closer.
Kadejah Young (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn., Physical Education) paced WPU with 13 points, while Jessie Kreuser (Sr., Mendota heights, Minn., Undecided) joined the double-digit club with 12 points.
Kau’ilani Miki-Han (Fr., Irvine, Calif., Communications), with eight points, and Briana McRae (So., Racine, Wis., Undecided), with seven points, were also offensive contributors.
Katie Golomski (Sr., Milwaukee, Wis., Psychology) managed eight rebounds and four assists in the exhibition outing.
Next Up: William Penn travels to St. Paul, Minn. next Friday for another exhibition game, facing NCAA Division II Concordia-St. Paul at 2 p.m.
