GRINNELL, Iowa – Four Grinnell College players have been named to the 2014 All-Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Team.

Andie Semlow ’16 and Katy Oldach ’16 were first-team selections, while Carolyn Silverman ’17 and Elle Silverman ’15 were second-team picks.

Semlow, a defender from Orland Park, Ill. (Carl Sandburg), sparked a Pioneer defense that led the MWC in shutouts with nine and ranked fourth in goals allowed with 23 in 19 contests. Her efforts helped Grinnell qualify for the league’s postseason tournament for the fourth season in a row.

Oldach, a goal keeper from Oak Park, Ill. (Oak Park River Forest), is an All-MWC selection for the second time after earning second-team honors last season. She led the league in save percentage with an .835 mark and ranked third in shutouts with 6.3. Oldach is third in school history in career saves and fifth in shutouts.

Carolyn Silverman, a forward from Bettendorf, Iowa (Bettendorf), led the Pioneers in both goals scored with eight and assists with four. She ranked 10th in the league in goals and was fourth in game-winning goals with three.

Elle Silverman, a midfielder from Falls Church, Va. (George Mason), earned All-MWC honors for the second season in a row. She ranked second third year for Grinnell in goals scored with three and assists with three.

Lake Forest College swept the top individual honors as Michelle Greeneway was named Offensive Player of the Year, Ellen Rogers was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year honors and T.R. Bell was selected Coach of the Year.
