Caldwell Park trail section is now complete and runs from A Ave to 9th street, adding 2 concrete bridges over Spring Creek and 3/4 of a mile to the community trail. This section received a $10,000 from from Mahaska County Community Foundation (MCCF) in May 2014 and development was completed in October. Long term plans connect this section to the existing loop around the community. Trail users of all ages should check out the new section and, in the season, ride the entire trail on MCRF’s trail tram tours available May 1 through October 31. The new section of trail is also the location for the future Mahaska County Conservation Caldwell Park Learning Center so riders and walkers can stop off for a visit straight from the trail!
