Thomas F. Bosveld, 65, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, November 3, 2014, at the MHP Emergency Room in Oskaloosa. He was born October 7, 1949, in Oskaloosa, the son of Fred and Anna Bosveld.

Tom graduated from Pella High School. Following high school he honorably served his country as a member of the US Air Force, completing two tours in the Vietnam War from October 14, 1968 and was discharged on October 13, 1974.

Following his discharge, Tom returned to Oskaloosa and worked for Garden Engineering and Oskaloosa Water Department. He was united in marriage to Lannie Herman at Oskaloosa.

Tom enjoyed sailing, woodworking and doing carpentry work.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lannie Bosveld of Oskaloosa; three children: Ambjour Hazen of Oskaloosa, Jeremy Hazen of Oskaloosa, and Dr. April (& Randall) Hill of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren: Kira Hazen, Hope Cline, Ethan and Devan Millmier, Madilyn Overturf, and Lincoln Hill; three sisters: Alice Bosveld (John Grimaldi), Jane Bosveld, and Linda (& Peter) Mulroy ~ all of New York, New York; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William; and his grandson, Jordan Hazen.

As was Tom’s wish, his body has been cremated.
To honor his wishes, no formal services are planned.
There will be a gathering of friends and family Thursday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Mi Ranchito. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Stephen’s Memorial Animal Shelter.
